Principles are ways of successfully dealing with reality to get what you want out of life.

Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, cites principles as his key to success.

Work Principle

Great people have both great character and great capabilities.

By great character, I mean they are radically truthful, radically transparent, and deeply committed to the mission of the organization. By great capabilities, I mean they have the abilities and skills to do their jobs excellently. People who have one without the other are dangerous and should be removed from the organization. People who have both are rare and should be treasured.

Don’t accept less than is acceptable. If you do, you will have a worse life than you should. Look to move. You will find a way.

Is there any hope for me if I see myself as not having great character nor great capabilities?

One doesn’t have to be “great”. In fact, probably too much is made about people being “great” rather than just being good people savoring the simple pleasures of life.
