Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, cites principles as his key to success.
In 1975, Ray Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates, out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Over forty years later, Bridgewater has grown into the largest hedge fund in the world and the fifth most important private company in the United States (according to Fortune magazine), and Dalio himself has been named to TIME’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Along the way Dalio discovered unique principles that have led to his and Bridgewater’s unique success. It is these principles, and not anything special about Dalio, that he believes are the reason behind whatever success he has had. He is now at a stage in his life that he wants to pass these principles along to others for them to judge for themselves and to do whatever they want with them.
Part of the purpose of having a believability-weighted system is to remove emotion from decision making. Crowds get emotional and seek to grab control. That must be prevented. While all individuals have the right to have their own opinions, they do not have the right to render verdicts.
I’m glad that you find them helpful. Please pass them along to others who you want to help.
Yes. Based on my reading of history and based my understanding of cause:effect relationships I do worry that principles that divide us and the gaps between the rich/capitalists and the poor/socialists are greater than the principles and circumstances that bind us together and that this becomes threatening to our well-being. I think that we are at a juncture in which we will either deal with the income/wealth/opportunity gap in a) a cooperative and logical way or b) a confrontational illogical way and that, if we do b) rather than a) we will suffer greatly.
How would you handle a situation where you're well aware of your weaknesses, but people in your immediate involuntary circle work to continuously view them rather than your efforts to move forward?
Most people won't know until it has gone much beyond too far, and the pain of that causes the pendulum to swing back. All this has happened many times before so, if you want a detailed road map I suggest reading my book lthe Changing World Order" or watching my free animated video by the same name on YouTube.
