Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, cites principles as his key to success.
In 1975, Ray Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates, out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Over forty years later, Bridgewater has grown into the largest hedge fund in the world and the fifth most important private company in the United States (according to Fortune magazine), and Dalio himself has been named to TIME’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Along the way Dalio discovered unique principles that have led to his and Bridgewater’s unique success. It is these principles, and not anything special about Dalio, that he believes are the reason behind whatever success he has had. He is now at a stage in his life that he wants to pass these principles along to others for them to judge for themselves and to do whatever they want with them.
People who push through successfully have to-do lists that are reasonably prioritized, and they make certain each item is ticked off in order.
Since you found Principles so valuable I urge you to get the free app Principles in https://www.principles.com/principles-in-action/ to check out what’s available. Or you might want to interact with me on social media. Reading a book won’t produce much change. Regular contact to affect one’s habit is what’s life change. People find these videos, tools and social interactions fun and life-changing. I hope you will enjoy them.
Glad you find the principles about habits and the book in general helpful. A number of people have developed habits that have helped them access these principles on aregular basis that you might be interested in. The most common ones are going to Principles to find the relevant ones when they are stuck, referring to one a day, and using the Coach (which is an app that you tell your problems to and it directs you to principles that might be helpful). The first two you can do; the app will be out shortly. I’m fixing it up so you can out your own principles in it and others principles in it so you’re not limited to just mine. If you want me to get it to you when it’s ready leave your contact info (here).
It’s a joy for me to have young people like your daughter get these principles early. Because many teachers love Principles In Action for their students I WILL GIVE ANY TEACHER WHO WANTS “PRINCIPLES IN ACTION “ FOR FREE. If you want teachers to get these books for free they can put in their information at https://principlesstore.myshopify.com/products/educator-offer-principles-for-success
“Your story about how these principles have worked well for you in your very different setting than mine is one of many such stories I get about this. You might be interested in how the head coaches of the Atlantic Falcons and the Miami Heat found the same to be true for them which they put out in this brief video (link).”
It's all in having the right habits. Meditate is one, and Pain + Reflection = Progress is another. Triangulate among smart people who will disagree with you and others is another.
